Shipping and Returns Policy

 

Shipping Information

​

PLEASE NOTE: Current (as of 11 June 2020) COVID 19 guidelines from IOM Post and Royal Mail are advising that they will not 'guarantee' delivery times within UK and Channel Islands at present.  However, our experience is that customers are generally still receiving goods within the 'original guaranteed times'. Please contact Manx TurnEd if you think this may be a concern for you*.

We can still provide you with Gift Vouchers with an extended validity of up to 6 months from date of purchase (with possibility to extend if necessary due to any Covid-19 restrictions).

All products shipped from our Isle of Man location to the United Kingdom are insured in transit. At this time we are not able to accept orders that require shipping to countries with postal addresses outside of the Isle of Man, United Kingdom or its offshore islands. This may change in the future, so contact Manx TurnEd if you require a product to be shipped outside of the UK.

Please contact us before ordering if you have specific requirements regarding shipping. ​

  • For any local Isle of Man orders Manx TurnEd are happy to arrange delivery F.O.C. or arrange a mutually convenient collection time and place.

  • Manx TurnEd endeavour to dispatch your completed order within 5 working days (Monday-Friday) of receipt of order and completed and valid payment.​

  • Shipping will occur following receipt of valid payment.

​

  • Your shipping rate will be dependent upon your delivery address and weight of product. When you go to 'Checkout' your shipping rate will be calculated based on weight of product and your delivery address. We ask that you check this price carefully before submitting your order and payment. Please amend delivery 'country' to your own, and ensure you enter your correct and full address and postcode prior to submitting your order.  *NB: If you live on the Isle of Man please ensure you have the 'Shipping Destination set to Isle of Man, and NOT UK, otherwise you will be charged a shipping fee*

  • It is imperative that you the customer provide us with your correct postal address with Postcode at the time of your order. Unfortunately, Manx TurnEd cannot be responsible for any delivery errors if incorrect postal address has been used.  We invite you to contact us if you have any queries or concerns about this.

  • NB: If your order includes a commission or requires any customisation, there may well be a longer time between purchase and dispatch. Please contact us prior to placing an order to discuss your requirements and timescale. We aim to please!

  • Purchased items can be delicate and/or heavy. We package each product according to its specific need and pride ourselves in ensuring that we package items securely and safely for transit.The price for shipping from the Isle of Man to UK addresses is based on both weight and size of the product. The shipping cost includes packaging for transit. As most of our products are delicate they require significant packing materials for safe and protective transit. We therefore have a scale of Shipping charges for addresses outside of the Isle of Man.

  • Manx TurnEd engage the services of IOM Post 'Special Delivery' services which guarantees your product by 1pm next working day (Monday - Friday) to Isle of Man, United Kingdom and the Channel Islands. NB: Please see current COVID -19 guidelines in T&C's*

  • This service provides full online tracking and proof of delivery, as well as a signature on delivery.  £500 insurance cover is provided as standard and depending on weight and value of product this insurance cover may be increased.

​​

  • The ONLY Manx TurnEd items that may be sent without 'special delivery' status, would be products with an individual value of £10 or less, and a weight of less than 500 grams. These items would be sent as 'signed for' which provides proof of posting, proof of delivery and a compensation insurance of up to £50 (for loss or damage).

  • Please be aware that we operate from an Island, and that on rare occasions the weather may cause disruptions to the timings of this shipping service.  This is out of the control of Manx TurnEd. Please contact us prior to making your order if you think this may be a concern for you.

  • Manx TurnEd aims to dispatch an ordered product as promptly as possible following the confirmation of your order and payment. This is generally within 3-5 business days. However, please be aware that we are a small family business, and this timescale may not always be able to be guaranteed.  Please contact us directly before you place your order if you require your product within this timescale. We will endeavour to meet your requirements. Manx TurnEd will always communicate with you as your order is dispatched. Depending on the type of shipping for your product, we may also be able to provide you with a tracking number at the time of dispatch. This information (if available) would either be e-mailed or sent via SMS to you.

 

NB: Our shipping rates are based on 'IOM Post' charges which are current as of 6th April 2020, plus a small amount to include appropriate packaging to ensure safe and secure delivery of your product. Your 'shipping amount' on your order is inclusive of the post and packaging elements of this charge.

Our shipping fees are subject to change if 'Isle of Man Post' increase their shipping charges. The rates printed herein are current at time of writing (June 2020)

Returns Information

We hope you you will be very pleased with the product you receive from Manx TurnEd, and will wish to enjoy and keep it forever.

  • If, however, any product is damaged in transit, or is faulty when it arrives, it can be returned for a full refund; or replacement (where possible).

  • We ask that for both the 'signed for' deliveries, and the 'special delivery' methods of shipping, that you, the customer (or the person receiving the goods), examines the packaging/product carefully prior to accepting its delivery. If you notice any damage at this stage we ask that you clearly inform the shipping agent, and follow the advice/instruction they give you at that time.  

  • If you choose not to keep your Manx TurnEd product for any other reason, please note that you are welcome to return it to us within 14 days of receipt of delivery, but you, the purchaser, will be responsible for the costs of returning the item(s) in 'new' condition and with secure and appropriate packaging for transit, to Manx TurnEd on the Isle of Man. The only exceptions to this are if your product was delivered to you in error by Manx TurnEd, or if the item was damaged or defective.

  • Payment will be refunded upon receipt of item, and evidence (preferably photographic) that the product was damaged and/or defective upon receipt of delivery to customer.

 

Privacy Policy

Manx TurnEd is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you.

The information we collect and how we use it:

  • When you order from us via this, our website, www.manxturned.co.uk we need to know your full name, postal address, e-mail address, billing address, delivery address (if different), and contact telephone number. 

  • This is to allow Manx TurnEd to process, dispatch and deliver your order in the most timely, safe and secure manner. We use this information solely to:

We collect information about you for two reasons; Firstly to process your order, and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.  

  • We do not send you e-mails unless you have given us (Manx TurnEd) your information for the purposes of an order, or for a specific enquiry about a service or product that Manx TurnEd may offer, or unless you have completed our 'customer contact form' and stated 'Yes' to having read and agreed our 'Terms of Use & Privacy Policy'. We do not share your personal information with any other entity, except for agents involved in the processing, dispatch and delivery of your order.

  • How long is your personal information held by Manx TurnEd?  We, the aforesaid, will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary. At the conclusion of this time we will delete this information.

  • Our use of cookies and other information gathering technologies:- A cookie is a small file containing information about your session, or about you. It is a unique identifier that is sent to your internet browser. The internet browser may then store the cookie on your hard drive. We may use it for research or to improve our site and the services we offer you.

  • Manx TurnEd specialises in quality woodturning by a craftsman from the Isle of Man. All Manx TurnEd's products are made on the Isle of Man. Where possible we create products from wood that has been grown on the Isle of Man. When we refer to 'Manx' or 'Local' wood/timber we are stating that this woodturned product was created from a tree that was grown in the Isle of Man.

  • We may also refer to a 'Manx' or 'Celtic' style with some of our products. The denotes that such product is made with relevance to the Isle of Man and its traditions and/or styles, or to Celtic traditions or styles.

  • All measurements and weights shown on product descriptions are approximate. If you the customer have very specific requirements, please contact us prior to dispatch so we may reconfirm measurements for you.
